Brothers and Sisters of the IAFF 5th District,
 
As many of us are experience extremely dry and hot conditions, the City of Duluth recently experienced a flood of unprecedented magnitude. While most of Duluth Local 101 members fared well during the flood, we are now discovering that a number of Local 101 members have had significant damages and losses. Flood insurance in Duluth is non-existent in many cases, and those Duluth IAFF members who have experienced significant losses and hardships are now realizing there is no assistance or aid.

On behalf of Local 101 members whom are struggling, Duluth Local 101 has set up a flood relief fund to assist those whom are overburdened and suffered losses during the flood. I would ask you and your members, if you are able, to reach out with a small financial contribution to assist Local 101 members in helping with the relief effort for our brothers and sisters affected.
 
It is never easy to make such a request, but I do so gladly on their behalf..
